" Thank you so much for making me feel so special when I came in. When I got home my son said "mommy look your hair grew really fast today!" I've gotten so many compliments on my new hair. Thank you!"
Jess found us from a brochure left at Kaiser. She came in for a wig. We had one in stock that was perfect on her!
Congratulations Jess on completing your treatment and are now in remission!
"It is my pleasure to write about Meleesa and her generous heart. I have received a complimentary haircut of my own hair and one for my wig.
In addition to this wonderful service, Meleesa has given me a brand new wig - for free!
Thank you so much, Meleesa, for making me feel special and pretty on this rough journey through cancer, chemotherapy and hair loss."

It was our pleasure to assist you. Now your hair is growing back in and your on your way back to health. Congratulations!!
"I was helped by Meleesa in 2013 who took the time to get to know me and my situation. After chemo, my hair didn't come back the same. It was very thin. Once we found a wig that I liked, I felt I looked my best when I'd wear it.
It's not easy to lose your hair no matter what the reason.
When Meleesa is helping you, she gives you her full attention. She asks questions about your lifestyle. She helped me with makeup and skincare as well. I have worn toppers, then moved to wigs per her suggestions. They look so good that people don't realize it was a wig or topper!"
Recently, Jacqui contacted us from her new home in TX to order a duplicate wig. It was our pleasure to help you with that Jacqui! Congratulations on being cancer free!!
"Hello, my name is Julie. I’ve been involved in Meleesa’s salon, Image by Design, for the past 10 years.
We hired her for my oldest daughter’s wedding. She did an outstanding job on everyone’s hair and makeup, including myself. Then just a year and a half ago, she did my youngest daughter’s wedding.
Meleesa has also been cutting and styling my hair for quite a while. I often heard her talk about how she helps women with hair loss due to cancer and was always touch by her caring ways, but I never thought I would become someone who would need her services in that realm. I was diagnosed with a rare intestinal cancer about 9 months ago. The tumor was too large to operate on, so I was put on chemo to shrink the tumor. As time went on, my hair got thinner and thinner. I had a large bold spot in the back of my head that I was very self-conscious of. On a regularly scheduled appointment with Meleesa, I shared how upsetting it was to be losing my hair. Meleesa was so understanding and said she could help me. The first thing she did was help me find the right topper for my condition. She spent at least an hour with me going through web sites to find just the right one. When my hair topper arrived, I went back to Meleesa to have it fitted. The color was just a shade off, so she died my hair to match the topper. Then she cut the topper to blend in with my own hair style. I was blown away that you couldn’t tell I was wearing a hair piece. I was very happy, but also afraid that I would not be able to put it on correctly and blend it in the way she did. But then, she said, “Okay, now you put it on”. She proceeded to tell me exactly how to position it and clip it on. Lo and behold, after a few tries, I got the hang of it!
My self-confidence returned, and I felt physically and mentally great! But that is not the end of the story. After everything was said and done and I asked her how much I owed her, she said nothing! She shared she had lost several close family members, and she knew and understood how traumatic going through cancer was. She shared that she wanted to help women in what could be one of the most trying times in their lives.
No words can explain how caring and sincere Meleesa was in her effort to help me look and feel good as I struggled to try and maintain a normal life. What Meleesa does, comes from her heart. She is a rare bread in this day and age where many people are self-absorbed in their own struggles. Hats off to you Meleesa! May all you do for people come back to you tenfold."
Julie, you are too kind. But you are the amazing one, as you journey through your 5th time with cancer! You are a miracle and inspiration!!
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2022. My hair dresser referred me to Butterflies and Roses. I have been so grateful for the services of that program. I saw Meleesa who taught me how to imitate eyebrows and eyelashes when mine fell out. They provided me with a beautiful wig. The studio provides privacy which I really appreciate. My hair recently began to grow in and she has been helping me shape it. I am emotional every time I visit. The compassion and generosity of Meleesa and this organization has made such an impact on my cancer journey. I can't say enough about it. Thank you.
